Memon Akhni in Instant Pot
1.5 lbs Beef/Veal/ Mutton
½ cup oil
1 large onion thinly sliced
2 medium tomatoes chopped
1-2 serrano chilies whole with stem cut off
1/3 cup coriander leaves
2 tbsp. ginger garlic paste
½ cup yogurt
½ packet Memon Mutton Biryani Shan Masala (this amount provides a mild taste. Add more for if you prefer spicy)
2 potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
2 cups rice, rinsed
Press “Sauté” on Instant Pot. Add oil. When the screen reads
“HOT” add the sliced onions and sauté until brown (about 13 minutes). Add beef and
ginger garlic paste, mix well, sauté for 2 minutes. Add mutton biryani masala and
yogurt. Add chopped tomatoes, whole serrano chili, and chopped coriander leaves.
Close lid, press “Meat/Stew” adjust time to 15 minutes. (Do not add any water)
Once done, add potatoes and rice. Add enough water to cover
the rice completely, press “Rice” and adjust time to 8 minutes.
